Putter ? The Best Advice When Shopping For A New Putter

Putter ? The Best Advice When Shopping For A New Putter

The variety of putters to choose from today's golf manufacturers is enormous. There are hundreds of companies that make various versions of their putters and this can be a daunting choice for some golfers. And the stress of choosing the right golf club can take its toll, considering that you will spend a lot of time using the putter of your choice.

It's Like Choosing A Mate, Your Putter Will Be Around For A Long Time To Come

You use the putter for more strokes than any other club in your golf bag. Having confidence in your putting game is an important aspect of becoming a better player, and lowering your score. You must be totally assured that the putter you purchase is going to get the job done.

Most players do not choose a putter based purely on expense, which is wise. You should find one that you are comfortable with and one in which you can count on. And when you make your selection, commit yourself to using that putter with faith that it will fit like a glove, and help you become a better putter.

Do not rush your selection, and try not to be overwhelmed with the array of putters available, all with their shiny blades, computerized attachments, and bold mallets.

Golf Lessons ? How To Squeeze Every Penny Out Of Your Golf Lessons

Golf Lessons ? How To Squeeze Every Penny Out Of Your Golf Lessons

If you intend on taking golf lessons then consider the following tips on preparation so that you get the most out of your classes:

1. Bring your listening skills: Although the advice to 'listen up' may appear to be common sense, regardless of any class or lessen you may take, it is considered to be the most important part of participating in a student-teacher atmosphere.

And with golf lessons, you have to remember that for a large percentage of the time you will be standing over the ball, holding your golf club, while the instructor is giving you verbal advice throughout the entire movement. This feedback is golden and if your mind is not set on concentrating on the moves, while at the same time absorbing every word the teacher saying, you are going to be missing out on some vital pointers.

2. Do not be afraid to ask questions: While listening is paramount to absorb all of the golf instructions that your teacher is giving you, speaking up and asking questions is equally important.

Even if you have studied up on the subject of golf and its many components, your golf instructor may have an entirely different way of describing certain aspects of the swing, along with many other details. This information may not seem familiar to you, so don't worry about asking sill questions.

Remember the old saying: ?The only stupid question is the one you don't ask?

Anytime you are confused about any aspect of what your instructor is teaching you, speak up and do not worry about whether or not the information has already been discussed. The instructor will not think less of you at all. In fact, he or she will more likely appreciate the fact that you are paying attention and showing a genuine interest in everything being taught.

3. Practice in between your lessons: If you take the opportunity to sign up for multiple golf lessons, then by all means practice whatever material that your instructor has asked you to work with until the next lesson date. Most teachers will give you homework and ask you to go over a few maneuvers in between your sessions.

The importance of practicing in between your classes is paramount to making as vast improvement as possible. Your next lesson will be more productive and your golf teacher will see that you are making as much effort needed to improve.

Remember that most golf instructors get into this business because they like to help people and see them succeed. If you are unwilling to take advantage of these classes, it's best not to waste your time, the instructor's time, and your money.

4. It's okay to slow down the pace: Just as important as it is to speak up and ask questions, the same holds true for voicing out if you feel the information is going too fast for you. If there are too many items being taught on your instructor's list which you cannot process at once, bring the issue up. It's best to focus on just one item at a time instead of being overwhelmed and going home confused about what you were supposed to learn. And if the instructor is not flexible to your needs, find a new teacher.

Beginner Golf Tips: Taking The Confusion Out Of Golf's Fundamentals

Back when I started learning how to play golf there wasn't as much help and information available, not like what is provided from today's information age. Needless to say, I learned on my own and of course made a lot of mistakes along the way, especially when I tried to mimic what the professional golfers were doing on TV.

If you are just starting out in golf yourself, the best advice is to understand that it will take a few years just to get the basics down. You will have your ups, your downs, and learning new techniques while understanding your individual style will come in growth spurts.

When a new technique you are trying to learn seems impossible one day, through practice and repetition, it will simply come naturally another day.

Stick To The Basics

In all my years of playing golf, it seems that sticking to the basics was the best approach (a universal strategy that works in every aspect of daily living). As you work your way through golf's plateaus, peaks, and valleys, the most important thing to remember is to stick to the fundamentals.

Strive to improve each and every time you play the game. Learn that patience and perseverance are just as important as making contact with the ball. The ultimate reward for your positive attitude and consistency in playing on the course will be an improved game, and the development for a lifelong golf passion.

Become Friends With Your Clubs

When you begin learning the fundamentals of golf, another golden nugget of advice that I learned along the way is to stick to the same pair of golf clubs for at least 1 to 2 years. When you are experiencing the early stages of golf, the equipment you use should not be changed so that you can experience as much stability as possible.

Trusting the same clubs during your initial year or two of golf will also help minimize variables that can affect your game in a negative way. For example, by sticking with the same driver during this time period, you will learn to identify what factors are making a positive contribution to your tee shots. Changing clubs too often, especially during this learning period, will not enable you to know whether your technique has improved.
